Annual Parish Meeting a Great Success!
17th May 2016
Eynsford Parish Council held its Annual Parish Meeting on 22nd April in Eynsford Village Hall.
The event was a great success with lots of people attending. Members of the public were able to browse stalls and speak to advisers from a variety of agencies including Citizen's Advice Bureau, The Woodland Trust, Kent County Playing Fields Association, Kent County Council, Kent Police, Sevenoaks District Council and more.
Members of the Parish Council were also on hand to answer any queries and had a display showing the work the parish council had carried out over the previous year together with annual and finance reports. Parishioners were also given the opportunity to sign up to get involved in Eynsford's Community Plan.
Chair of Eynsford Parish Council, Sarah Boyle gave a short speech about the council and its work, thanking the councillors for their time and effort.
A retirement gift was given to Steve Armstrong who had recently retired as Community Warden for Eynsford, Farningham and Crockenhill. This was a joint gift from Eynsford and Farningham Parish Councillors.
Ken Baker was given the Kent Association of Local Councils Community Award. He was one of the people nominated by people in the village and was selected by the parish council to receive the award. Cllr Roger Gough presented the certificate to Ken.
Rev Gary Owen presented a certificate to Sarah Boyle showing that Eynsford & Farningham were now a 'Toilet Twinned Village' having twinned at least 60 toilets with ones in developing countries around the world.
Also at the Annual Parish Meeting was a display of photographs and artwork which were the entries into the competition 'Eynsford, Our Community'. Thank you to everyone who entered and to the local businesses that kindly supported this by providing prizes.
Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope to see you again next year!
