6pm - 8pm - Sights and Sounds of the Darent Valley - an exhibition, curator's talk and sound performance at St Martin's Church, High Street, Eynsford. There will be a performance of a specially created sound piece of the Darent Valley by sound artist Paul Cheese. Sarah Newman, the curator of the Samuel Palmer exhibition recently held in Sevenoaks and Dartford libraries will have some of the pictures on show and talk about his work and other artists inspired by the valley.

You will also be able to watch a 360 degree film, Stream of Consciousness, created by artist Feral Practice. This celebrates the Darent Valley’s rich cultural landscape and biodiversity. Beginning before sunrise at the River Darent's source and ending at sunset as the river flows out to the Thames, the different precious habitats - water meadows, lakes, wildflower meadows, ancient trees and more - are explored along the way. We will also be showing a beautiful, animated film, ‘The River’, written and narrated by Deborah Wolton and made by Temujen Gunawardena and Badj Whipple. In only a few minutes it tells the story of the River Darent, going back 100 million years and sheds light on its fragile existence today.

These works have been created with support from the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership.

Also - from 8th - 16th June - The Big Picture Along our River. A signposted family walk between Millfield and Lullingstone Roman Villa where you can admire the stunning views of the Darent Valley through giant picture frames. Walk length - approximately 1 hour.
