Twinning

(Association de Eynsford et Camphin)

Eynsford is twinned with the village of Camphin en Pevele in the Nord department of France, close to Lille.

Camphin is a small village with a similar population to Eynsford, It has some agricultural businesses and is also a commuter village for the city of Lille. There are two primary schools, a church, a village hall and a lively community. http://www.camphin-en-pevele.fr/

Eynsford and Camphin signed their twinning charter in November 2015. This was proceeded by a number of meetings and visits between the two committees and other members of the community.

A football match was held in Camphin between the Eynsford Youth Football Club and the team in Camphin.

Children from Anthony Roper Primary School in Eynsford visited Camphin in March 2016. Children from Camphin visited Eynsford in May 2015 and May 2016. Children were able to learn about each other's cultures and languages and to make connections.

A visit was made to Camphin to see the famous Paris-Roubaix cycle race which passes through the village and its famous cobbled streets in April 2016.Twinning exchanges have continued and have included visits to Lille, Arras and trips around Kent.
