New Playground Equipment
In spring/summer 2014 new equipment was added to the children's playground at Harrow Meadow. After a consultation with parents of under 5s a multiplay unit and a springer were chosen to complement the existing equipment which caters for ages 5 and up. We were successful in gaining a grant from Cory Environmental Trust in Britain which helped to make the expansion a reality. The parish council and local toddler groups also contributed towards the project. Small children have really enjoyed using the new equipment and their parents are equally pleased.
Castlefield Allotment Expansion
In 2012 we expanded the Castlefield Allotments into an area that was completely overgrown. Initially a Community Payback team cleared the small trees and scrub from the area. Then, with the help of a Big Community Fund grant from Sevenoaks District Council we had the area dug over and cleared with a digger, and a new water trough put in. This led to the creation of six new plots which were quickly taken on. It is great to see them being well used and cultivated.
